Maybe you feel the same way – sooner or later, in many conversations, whether at work or with friends, the topic of artificial intelligence comes up. The emotional mix is characterized by amazement at the abilities, skepticism regarding ethical questions and mixed feelings about the impact on the future world of work.
The numerous stories and anecdotes about the short-sightedness and naivety with which many employers appear to be when it comes to AI are astonishing: employees secretly use their private accounts because there are no company licenses at all. Or it is suggested – in one authority or another – that “this hype will disappear again”. On the other hand, some people also report almost irrational expectations of salvation from the savings potential through artificial intelligence.

In order for us in Germany to be able to jump on the global AI express, companies and administration alike need a clear AI strategy. The task for HR is to make employees fit for their implementation: with clearly regulated access to tools, clear guidelines for handling and data protection, practical learning formats and, finally, enough freedom for experimentation and mistakes. If we succeed, we may be able to tell completely different stories in the future: about exciting new findings and a wealth of new possibilities that AI offers.
