She was Human Resources Director at the energy company EnBW for seven years. However, Colette Rückert-Hennen will be resigning from her position on September 1st. She will then retire, but will remain on the company’s supervisory board in an advisory capacity. Her successor has already been chosen: EnBW’s new human resources manager will be Dr. Charlotte Beissel.

Beissel is currently working as human resources director and labor director at Stadtwerke Düsseldorf and will take up her new role at EnBW on July 1st. According to the company, she will initially be trained by Rückert-Hennen in a transition phase, and she will then officially take over from September 1st. She will then be responsible for human resources, legal, compliance and real estate.

EnBW: Planned baton

The two months of overlap seem to have been deliberately chosen: “For me, a forward-looking succession plan is more than a formal process,” writes Rückert-Hennen, HR Director, on Linkedin. “It is an expression of responsibility towards the company and the people who support it. Especially in times of profound transformation, stability, clarity and the security that strategic issues will be consistently pursued are needed.”

According to the company, Beissel has so far focused on the topics of strategic human resources work and digital transformation. “With her strong expertise in the areas of human resources, organizational development and digitalization, she will provide important impetus for the further development of the company and sustainably strengthen EnBW,” says the chairman of the EnBW supervisory board Lutz Feldmann.

Before her time at Stadtwerke Düsseldorf, Beissel worked for the state capital of Düsseldorf, where she worked as head of the main office, the office for human resources, organization and IT. She started her professional career as a research assistant in the legal department at the Federal Association of German Foundations. She will now be responsible for the HR matters of a company with more than 30,300 employees.

Lena Onderka is editorially responsible for the Employee Experience & Retention area – which also includes, for example, the topics of BGM and employee surveys. She also looks after the topic of diversity. She is also the editorial contact for the German Human Resources Summit and the HR Forum Banking.
