Vox launches a harsh attack against Feijóo in the midst of negotiations between the regional governments | Spain

After days of news about the movements of those purged from Vox – such as Iván Espinosa de los Monteros or Javier Ortega Smith – and the controversy surrounding the payments of the advisors of Santiago Abascal’s party, the ultra leadership has decided to send a harsh letter to the militancy signed by its general secretary, Ignacio Garriga. A letter that points to a clear culprit: the current leadership of the PP. The far-right party directly accuses Alberto Núñez Feijóo and his team of being responsible for the internal disputes and controversial accounts of the ultra party being aired in the media. And also with some very thick words.

“This entire brutal attack, unprecedented in democracy, has a single origin, although spiteful and corrupt people who have not been with us for a long time have joined in,” they state in the letter. “And that origin is none other than the current leadership of the Popular Party. Specifically, Mr. Núñez Feijóo, his advisor, Mar Sánchez, and the general secretary of his party, Miguel Tellado,” they add in the letter. “It is them, that Galician clan with the practices of estuary smugglers, who have contacted careerists and spiteful people to launch the media machinery against the third party of Spain. Mr. Casado already tried it at the time, although it must be recognized that in a more honorable way, launching his attacks personally, not through corrupt people and hitmen,” they emphasize.

The direct accusation against both the leader of the PP and the harsh assertions against its closest core occur just when the regional executives of Extremadura, Aragon and Castilla y León are being negotiated between both formations. This is not the first time that Vox has launched these accusations, which it had been pointing out for days in interviews and attention to the media, but never with such strong words, also expressed black on white in a letter to the militancy.

“Dear friends and affiliates. After the extraordinary results obtained in Extremadura, Aragon and Castilla y León, where we have broken all the records of our project, the brutal slanderous and miserable attack that we are suffering has arrived. It is not strange. There are many interested, not only in politics, in Vox not continuing to grow,” the letter begins. Until now, Feijóo’s popular executive had turned a deaf ear and had not wanted to respond to the accusations of being responsible for inciting those purged and of being behind the news about the payments in Vox. They avoided the clash in order to end the blockade in the autonomous negotiations. It remains to be seen what they respond to the forceful letter.

Neither lies, nor attacks, nor coordinated campaigns will stop @vox_es.
Truth, firmness and an unbreakable commitment to Spain.

A project that does not give up.

The conversations between PP and Vox have slowed down in Extremadura, where they were already very advanced and on the path to an agreement, due to the Easter holiday break. The Popular Party hopes that the Extremaduran pact will be definitively closed next week, but Abascal’s statement to its members puts more obstacles in the wheels of the relationship between its leaders. The ultras, for their part, had already cooled their haste and assure that the process will be slower than Genoa expects. The letter to Vox affiliates also comes after the extreme right did not meet its expectations of reaching 20% of the vote in the last Castilian and Leonese elections.

Vox has been changing the arguments of its criticism for weeks now. The ultras went from targeting the PP candidate in Extremadura and acting president, María Guardiola, as the obstacle to sealing an agreement, to shooting at Feijóo and Tellado, since the popular executive decided to get involved in the conversations and prepare a framework document that would serve as a guide for all communities. Now, the objective is different. “It is also fair to recognize that the majority of the PP “barons” have not contributed to the mafia attack and that, despite the enormous political distance, they are capable of reaching agreements on concrete measures in their territories, and are aware of the threat posed by Sánchez’s Government,” Vox continues in the letter. “Yes, there is a PP with which it is possible to reach agreements. And that is a reason for hope. It must also be recognized that many journalists and media have not participated, at least consciously, in this hunt,” Abascal’s people maintain.
