I am Catalan, Muslim and the son of immigrants, and the visit of Pope Leo XIV has challenged me in a way that I did not expect. I don’t say this from faith, but from that impact that beauty produces when people and places align for a common purpose. Especially now that we live in a fractured world. And it is precisely in that moral crack where there is something subversive about the fact that a papal visit is capable of summoning, without distinction, the devout and the agnostic, the lifelong Spaniard and the one who arrived a couple of generations ago.
