The Provincial Court of Malaga has ordered the reopening of the investigation into the death of Moroccan Haitam Mejri, 35, during a police action that occurred last December in Torremolinos (Malaga, 71,329 inhabitants) that included the use of taser guns. The three magistrates of the first section have asked the judge handling the case, who decided to archive it last April, to take it back to carry out further proceedings. They require a “deep and effective” investigation to “clarify the reported facts” regarding what happened during the man’s detention. The images from two cameras from the establishment itself and another two from the police have been key in the reopening.
