While the chords of the rock band Foo Fighters made the Iberdrola Music venue vibrate, another very different story began on the other side of the fences. The euphoria of the first day of the Mad Cool festival gave way this Wednesday to long walks, delays and waits for thousands of people unable to find a bus, a taxi or a transport vehicle with a driver with which to leave the area. This Thursday, Getafe City Council demanded explanations from the Government Delegation, the Madrid Municipal Executive and the promoters of the festival for a mobility device that it considers insufficient and that, in its opinion, has caused “the worst edition” since the event was held next to the municipality, after residents reported that the operation once again turned the environment into “total chaos” and “locked them in” in their own neighborhood. The Madrid City Council, for its part, maintains that “no particularly relevant incident” occurred, although it recognizes that it will be necessary to introduce adjustments – which it has not detailed – in the operation for the next few days.
