Educational unions and the Government are getting closer to closing an agreement, if the negotiations do not go awry at the last minute. In this Wednesday’s meeting the positions have become closer again and the Department of Education has shown itself willing to respond to the union claims ahead of this Thursday’s meeting. “We are making an important effort to bring closer positions with the unions,” Ignasi Giménez, Secretary of Educational Improvement, assessed at the end of the meeting. The unions have not been so satisfied with the meeting, which they have described as “disappointing”, and are maintaining the strikes as a measure of pressure.
