Congress has taken a decisive step to settle Spain’s historical debt with the Sahrawi people, whom it abandoned without fulfilling its obligations as a colonizing power in the death throes of Francoism and the dawn of the transition. The presentation in charge of debating the bill presented almost two and a half years ago by Sumar to grant Spanish nationality to the Sahrawis approved its opinion this Tuesday with the votes of the PSOE and other left-wing groups, the abstention of Junts and the rejection of PP and Vox.
