The investigation opened in the National Court in January 2022 to investigate the alleged involvement of four former ETA leaders in the attack committed in December 2006 against Terminal 4 of the Madrid-Barajas airport is reactivated. The National Police has delivered an extensive report to Judge Francisco de Jorge in which it details the role that the executive committee of the terrorist organization, called Board of Directors (Zuba), and who was part of it at that time. The police experts conclude that only the members of this body had the capacity to give the order to plant the van bomb that caused the death of Diego Armando Estacio and Carlos Alonso Palate; He injured around twenty people; caused serious material damage; and precipitated the end of the negotiations that the band was maintaining at that time with the Government of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
