With the Empordà fire still active, Catalan firefighters had to deal on Monday with three other large outbreaks in Artesa de Segre, Sentmenat and another in the Anoia region. On Tuesday the situation was repeated with fires in Torrefeta i Florejacs, Savallà del Comptat (Tarragona) and Martorell (Barcelona). Yesterday was not much better, and early in the afternoon there were up to 10 active fires in different phases with one of special virulence in Gavà that forced 6,000 residents to confine themselves and another in Navarclés that forced 7,000 more to stay at home. This simultaneity of fires is what most worries firefighters and emergency services at the moment. How do they manage to be everywhere? How is one focus or another prioritized?
