“Think that Barrabés is the good one and the others have to go down no matter what.” This is one of the messages analyzed by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard in a report that it delivered last February to the European Prosecutor’s Office and that is now in the hands of Judge Juan Carlos Peinado, who on June 19 clarified that the businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés is the only one accused of alleged prevarication and fraud against the interests of the European Union in this branch of the investigation of the Begoña Gómez case. The agents maintain that the temporary joint venture (UTE) made up of The Valley and a company from Barrabés was “the most benefited bidder” due to the “arbitrariness” that they see in the process of awarding a contract for the public company Red.es that is under suspicion in this separate piece.
