More than eight weeks have passed after the start of the extraordinary regularization of immigrants and the calendar progresses towards June 30, when the deadline for submitting applications ends. The procedure continues normally, they say in the Government, and positive resolutions are already being granted throughout Spain, but there is something that worries foreigners who already have their work and residence permit: the difficulties in getting an appointment at police stations to obtain the Foreigner Identity Card (TIE), the last step in the process. Immigrants from some communities are encountering this obstacle and it is reflected in their desire to travel to see their loved ones just at this time when they will have a vacation period. In some cases they have not seen their children and immediate family for years.
