The fire that started this Sunday in the municipality of Soneja (1,500 registered inhabitants), in the interior of Castellón, has entered the Sierra de Espadán natural park. The 500 people evicted as a precaution reside in the neighboring town of Azuébar, one of the 11 municipalities that are entirely part of the park, located in the last foothills of the Iberian System and a cork oak reserve. The expected extreme heat, the great dryness of the environment and the possibility that the wind will blow strongly again are the greatest threats to controlling the fire this Monday.
