In 2001, Nevenka Fernández denounced her boss, the powerful mayor of Ponferrada, Ismael Sánchez, of the PP, for harassment at a press conference. After the complaint, she fled her city, pursued by a campaign of discredit and prejudice. This Saturday, 25 years later, she performed again in Ponferrada at a public event, held at the headquarters of the Ciudad de la Energía Foundation, in a conference organized by the Ministry of Equality, surrounded by an auditorium full of 300 people. “I’m excited, nervous, but very happy,” she said, as soon as she started, with a smile.
