The further development of employees is becoming increasingly important. One lever for this is internal mentoring. But not everyone is suitable for it. HR experts explain what’s important.
There is often more knowledge in organizations than employers and individual employees are aware of. How do you as a human resources department ensure that this knowledge becomes visible and is used for the personal development of employees and the organization itself? A budget-friendly solution is mentoring. Employees pass on their knowledge to each other – whether professional or informal. But simply connecting two people with each other does not necessarily bring success. What is important in knowledge transfer?
The Association of Sparda Banks has had a mentoring program since September 2025. Young talents and experienced employees from different Sparda banks come together here, primarily to promote the further development of younger talent. According to the company, 20 mentor-mentee pairs are currently taking part, most of whom meet monthly. “It is a valuable addition to classic continuing education formats that focus on personal exchange and individual support for high potentials,” says the People & Culture department.
