This Friday, Barcelona hosts the Global Progressive Mobilization summit, which will bring together more than a hundred progressive parties from around the world and more than 3,000 people to defend left-wing alternatives to conservative policies, at a time when the right and far-right dominate a good part of Europe and America. Representatives of political parties, unions, academia and civil society organizations from dozens of countries will participate. On the first day, the former minister and executive vice president of Transition of the European Commission, Teresa Ribera, spoke; the former president of the Spanish Government José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero; the economists Mariana Mazzucato and Isabella Weber; and the sociologist Janja Lula da Silva, among others. The event will last until tomorrow, when the president of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the Brazilian, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will participate in the closing, the main protagonists of a weekend focused on offering an alternative to the world of the American president, Donald Trump.
