At least 11 people have died in the fire that broke out on Thursday in the Almeria municipality of Los Gallardos (3,110 inhabitants), according to the latest update from the Junta de Andalucía, which adds that there are eight injured, four of them seriously, who will be transferred to the Virgen del Rocío hospital in Seville. The Minister of the Presidency, Health and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz, has reduced the number of fatalities from 12 to 11 in a message released to the media in which he details that the deceased were surprised by “a very fast fire, with a very high speed of spread” in an area of very complex orography, with houses scattered across the mountain.
