The fire has been fueled by the wind blowing in the area
A plant fire in the surroundings of Montjuïc Castle in Barcelona this Sunday afternoon forced it to be evacuated and the cable car routes on the mountain to be suspended, municipal sources have reported.
The fire, according to these sources, was not large, but it broke out in an area that was difficult to access and was fanned by the wind blowing in the area. By the end of the afternoon, firefighting services managed to control the fire.
Four water trucks from the Barcelona Fire Department have worked at the scene, a body that has sent three more command vehicles, an ambulance and a drone service to the area.
The Generalitat Firefighters, for their part, have sent a bomber helicopter to the mountain to collaborate in the extinction.
