On the eve of the closure of tourist flats announced by Mayor Jaume Collboni in Barcelona for 2028, the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Barcelona (FAVB) has analyzed the data of the 10,730 licenses for legal tourist housing and has drawn two conclusions. The first, the exact map of where they are located, by districts and neighborhoods. The Eixample (with five neighborhoods) has the most homes for tourist use (4,911, 46%), and is also home to the property with the most concentration, with 92 in a single building on Tarragona street. The map also draws attention to the number of tourist apartments in Sants-Montjuïc (1,300, 12% of the entire city), Gràcia (840, 10.5%), or that Ciutat Vella (7.8%) does not have as many as could be expected, due to its centrality and because its neighbors were the first to denounce the negative impacts of this business.
