The main defendants in the scandal involving the awarding of luxury public housing (VPP) in Les Naus, in Alicante, testified today before the magistrate investigating the case. Former Urban Planning Councilor Rocío Gómez, who resigned when the controversy broke out, has stated that she only remembers that she joined the cooperative with her husband in 2021. Of the rest, she does not even admit that she knew that her in-laws were registered in Les Naus. On the other hand, the judge has denied the Valencian Generalitat its appearance in the case, since it has not “suffered direct harm” and its participation as a private prosecution would generate an “obvious conflict of interest.”
