After very complicated months, with a tough battle for control of the party that has ended with half of the leadership left out, Movimiento Sumar (MS) sought this Saturday to turn the page and open a new stage that prepares the organization for the next electoral cycle. The parliamentary spokesperson in Congress, Verónica Barbero, and the Secretary of State for Social Rights, Rosa Martínez, have agreed to general coordination after agreeing on a unitary list in the third assembly of a modest formation, which is now celebrating three years of life and which was created by Vice President Yolanda Díaz to join the Sumar coalition in the 2023 elections. The 300 delegates who have participated in the congress have supported the candidacy with the 95.9% of the votes. Although she will not be formally in the party’s bodies – and in February she announced that she will not repeat as a candidate – the head of Labor attended the closing ceremony of the meeting in Madrid and was moved when MEP Estrella Galán thanked her for her work: “Yolanda, we are going to leave you behind!” speech.
