An experienced Wiltshire celebrant has expanded her work with families by launching a new digital service designed to preserve personal stories and voices for generations to come.
Sarah Mead, who has spent over a decade supporting families in Swindon and across the region, has unveiled My Cherished Memories, a venture focused on recording meaningful life stories in lasting digital formats.
The concept draws inspiration from Sarah’s own family history. Growing up, she witnessed the impact of her father’s habit of recording relatives during the 1980s, a practice that left her with treasured memories and a strong sense of connection.
“Every family has a storyteller, and in ours, it was my Great Aunt. My father recorded her, and those memories have stayed with me. I always planned to do the same with my father, but never did, and I regret that,” said Sarah.
Through My Cherished Memories, families are offered the opportunity to capture stories and reflections in either audio or video recordings, which are then presented on a keepsake memory stick.
These recordings provide a lasting way for future generations to hear the voices, experiences and personalities of loved ones they may never have met.
“As a celebrant, I often hear families express regret over not having these moments saved. Now, I am excited to offer a way to ensure those memories are never lost,” Sarah added.
The new venture has already been recognised within the business community, with Sarah Mead receiving the Best Story award for My Cherished Memories at a recent Big Business Events gathering. The service’s official website is due to go live in early 2026.
