The president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, announced this Monday that the Government has already prepared the draft law that will speed up the construction of housing or projects linked to the industry. The Government has released to public information the text of what will be the law to simplify urban and environmental procedures, to reduce the processing of planning or the procedures for granting construction licenses to up to one month. During an event at the headquarters of the Ebro factory in Barcelona to present the text, he defended an urban “change of mentality” based on the trust and credibility of the institutions towards the promoters to prevent projects from being paralyzed by bureaucracy. The event was attended by the Government’s senior staff, with the presidentthe advisors of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau; and from Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition, Sílvia Paneque. Employer and union representatives have also attended, and it has been presented in Ebro as a symbol of the need for Catalonia to have large industrial projects such as that of the automobile company.
