It is dangerous that there are politicians who resort to conspiracy theories when they are harassed by the law. But it is also true that there are judges determined to agree with them. Judge Juan Carlos Peinado entered that category too long ago, incurring a kind of judicial populism: that which replaces the prudence required of an instructor with resolutions designed to cause public impact.
