Amor Giménez is 28 years old and lives in Palau-Solità i Plegamans (Barcelona). He works in a laboratory and, for a decade (just when he turned 18), he uses his free time – and a lot of money – to carry his rifle and hunt in the Catalan fields. His love for this hunting lifestyle, created around the practice of killing animals, is such that in the display cases of his house he accumulates medals and trophies that attest to his aim, his imperturbable pulse and his ability to hit the target of wild fauna. Amor is an active member of the Catalan Hunting Federation and has become, along with the rest of his colleagues with the same hobby, a key player in the fight against the outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) that is affecting the Collserola area. Dozens of hunters have gone from having a hobby that is condemned by society, to their help being essential – selfless – to combat the ASF plague that plagues Barcelona and that, week after week, infects animals.
