This Thursday, the PP rejected the proposal launched by Junts in Congress for the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, to “step aside” and make way for another candidate for the presidency, without calling elections. According to the PP Deputy Secretary of Health and Social Policy, Carmen Fúnez, it is nothing more than “a kick forward” to not “face the reality” of the corruption cases that affect the Government and the PSOE. Meanwhile, Congress is holding the last ordinary plenary session of the session this Thursday, in which deputies will vote on the PP motion to ask the Government to call elections. The result is not binding, it does not force the Executive to advance the elections, but it serves to make visible the state of the support that Pedro Sánchez has. It is also planned to debate, among other issues, the criminalization of false conversion therapies for LGTBIQ+ people, travel discounts this summer for young people and the reform of the Congressional Regulations proposed by Sumar, which seeks to lower the current requirements to form parliamentary groups. Meanwhile, in the National Court, Jacobo Teijelo, Santos Cerdán’s lawyer, is called to testify as an investigator.
