The spokesperson for the socialist group in Congress, Patxi López, has considered it a “truly outrageous” that the private prosecution of the PP in the trial of the Koldo case has reduced the sentence request for the businessman Víctor de Aldama from seven to five and a half years. If this sentence were imposed, Aldama would avoid prison. “He who has taken five million in commissions would walk free on the street,” López denounced. “The PP will have to explain it.” The Minister of Justice, Félix Bolaños, also referred to the Popular Party’s request in the press conference after the Council of Ministers: “I want to thank the Popular Party and Mr. Aldama for making it so evident that they are collaborating with each other and the other with each other.” In milder terms, Vox’s parliamentary spokesperson, Pepa Millán, has also criticized the performance of the PP lawyers in the trial. Millán has said that Aldama “does not inspire any confidence” and has indicated that all those involved in the corrupt plot “without exception” must pay.
