The president of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, has announced that the INFOCA Plan (Emergency Plan for Forest Fires of Andalusia) “considers the fire in Los Gallardos stabilized” after 7,000 hectares have burned. The good weather conditions that continued overnight, with high levels of humidity, have allowed the fire that broke out in the Almería municipality of Los Gallardos last Thursday to be stabilized and which has become the worst in the history of Andalusia with 12 deaths. The troops of both the Infoca plan of the Junta de Andalucía and the UME have continued working throughout the early morning to “extinguish reactivations, secure the perimeter and locate hot spots through drones.” The 1,000 people who were still evacuated from their homes will be able to return to their homes in a phased manner. The Civil Guard has received eight reports of missing people and has deployed a tracking device for 100 people, together with Civil Protection. “We trust that no new deaths will appear after the raids that have been carried out,” said the Andalusian president.
