Golf club managers across the UK will have new opportunities to explore innovative practice technology through a partnership between Rapsodo and the Golf Club Management Association (GCMA). The collaboration is intended to help members understand how flexible driving range solutions can improve facilities, provide a more engaging experience for golfers and support clubs in developing their commercial offering.
The agreement comes as Rapsodo Range continues to expand across the UK, with more than 10 installations completed in less than a year across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The system has been developed for golf clubs and independent range operators, combining ball and club tracking, video playback and interactive practice features.
Helping clubs make informed technology decisions
Rapsodo Range offers an adaptable route to modernising practice facilities. Clubs can get started without an upfront investment beyond a refundable security deposit, benefit from flexible contracts and begin with a limited number of bays. Its compact design provides an alternative for venues that lack the space or demand for a traditional large-scale range. Installation can usually be completed within one day, depending on the site.
The technology includes 11 performance metrics, such as ball speed, carry distance, club speed and launch angle. Video replays, virtual golf courses and interactive games add further value for players, helping them review performance and make practice more enjoyable. For operators, the features can encourage repeat visits, increase participation and support use of the range throughout the year.
Matthew Rigby, Rapsodo’s Director of International Markets, said: “Driving range technology should be accessible to clubs of different sizes, not just large commercial facilities. Our growing UK installation base demonstrates demand for a flexible, cost-effective solution that benefits golfers and makes commercial sense for facilities. Through the GCMA, we look forward to bringing that opportunity to more club managers.”
The technology is in use at Middleton Hall Golf Club, which has installed Rapsodo Range in all eight of its driving range bays. David Freeman, Director at the club, said: “We were impressed by the exceptional value for money and how easy the system was to set up. The results speak for themselves: increased footfall, higher revenue and extremely positive feedback.”
As part of the agreement, GCMA members will be able to learn more about using Rapsodo Range to improve their existing facilities, build stronger relationships with golfers and consider additional income opportunities without undertaking major redevelopment.
Darren Wood, GCMA Partnerships Manager, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Rapsodo as a new GCMA partner, strengthening our network of leading organizations supporting golf clubs and the people who manage them. This partnership will provide opportunities for GCMA members to learn more about Rapsodo’s technology and its applications within golf, while enabling Rapsodo to build closer relationships with club managers and professionals across the UK.”
