Eight Years On, A-Star Tuitions Brings STEM Learning Into the Digital Age with New Platform Launch

A-Star Tuitions, co-founded by Debashis and Arunima Saha, is moving into a new chapter of its development with the announcement of an online learning platform and a new parent-facing progress tracking system, due to launch at the beginning of the 2026-27 academic year. Established in 2018 to address the increasing need for high-quality STEM tuition, the company has grown steadily and its latest expansion reflects both that trajectory and its commitment to improving the experience for students and families alike.

The announcement arrives as A-Star Tuitions enjoys a run of industry recognition, having been shortlisted in the Best Home Based Business and Best Online Business categories at the Kent and London Small Business Awards, and confirmed as the sponsor of the People’s Choice Award at the 2026 National Tutoring Awards, hosted by The Tutors’ Association.

The digital platform, scheduled to go live in September 2026, will give students an independent route into the company’s structured study content, sitting alongside its established live online tuition services.

A-Star Tuitions was founded after Debashis and Arunima helped their own child navigate the demands of GCSE study, an experience that gave them deep insight into the stress that exam preparation can place on students and their families.

Over the eight years since, the business has worked with a wide range of learners from Year 7 through A-Level, offering both individual and group sessions designed to strengthen subject knowledge over time and foster genuine confidence.

The founders have always placed emphasis on the value of continuity, the idea that a student supported consistently over several years is more likely to thrive than one who turns to tuition only in moments of crisis.

Arunima reflected on the values that have shaped the company: “It is a simple motto for us: we want to bring out the best in every child. We aim to deliver an exceptional experience for both students and parents through well-planned and focused learning sessions. Every student has potential, and our role is to unlock it through structure, discipline and encouragement.”

From Key Stage 3 through to A-Level, A-Star Tuitions works across the full range of STEM subjects, helping students consolidate their understanding, close knowledge gaps and prepare effectively for assessment.

The founders have found that when tutors and students work together over an extended period, the results tend to be more significant and more durable with tutors able to refine their approach based on a detailed picture of each learner’s progress.

Debashis spoke plainly about a concern she regularly hears from families: “Every year we speak to parents who tell us they wish they had come to us sooner. Our message is always the same — don’t leave it too late. The confidence and subject knowledge students need doesn’t appear overnight, and the earlier the foundations are laid, the better.”

The new online learning environment responds to demand from families who need greater flexibility, whether due to geographical constraints, demanding school schedules or a student who simply learns best working through material independently.

Through the platform, learners will be able to access courses and resources outside of fixed session times, working at a pace that reflects their individual needs while benefiting from the clear structure that has characterised the A-Star Tuitions approach from the start.

The accompanying progress tracking system for parents has been built to improve visibility and accountability. Parents will receive regular, detailed updates covering engagement, achievement and learning milestones, giving them a much clearer picture of how their child is developing.

The company says these tools are about more than convenience — they are intended to make the relationship between tutors, students and families more collaborative and more open.

The award nominations and the National Tutoring Awards partnership speak to an ambition that extends beyond the business itself, reflecting a desire to contribute meaningfully to the broader standards of the tutoring industry.

With September’s launch on the horizon, the founders say that the heart of what A-Star Tuitions does remains unchanged: providing the structured, consistent, caring support that helps young people find their feet in STEM subjects and build the confidence to go further.
