A large number has recently been raised: 50,000 jobs are to be eliminated in the Volkswagen Group. This is the largest job cuts in VW history. The information is fundamentally not new. As early as December 2024, it was clear that in addition to the 35,000 jobs at Volkswagen, other jobs at Audi, Porsche and the software subsidiary Cariad would have to be cut due to necessary cost savings and comprehensive restructuring measures.
