Several dozen people gathered yesterday Thursday in front of two buildings on Túria Street in Valencia, previously occupied by neighbors and now about to be converted into an 80-room hotel, to denounce the touristification suffered by the Botànic neighborhood, with the proliferation of tourist apartments and hotel establishments in recent years. In mourning, several neighbors and business owners stood in front of what was once the neighborhood daycare center – now closed – with signs that read “The Botanical in Struggle.”“ or “El Botànico doesn’t sell“.
