The Generalitat will promote a technological project to speed up the processing of construction licenses and environmental authorizations. The Government has launched a system based on BIM technology (Building Information Modeling), with an investment of close to 3 million euros, which will automate part of the technical checks and reduce processing times for some administrative procedures by up to 50%. The plan is to replace PDF plans and technical reports with three-dimensional (3D) digital models. Albert Tort, Secretary of Telecommunications and Digital Transformation, pointed out during the presentation this Friday that the initiative is a way to “simplify and facilitate bureaucracy”, bringing more speed to the economic activity of Catalonia. The forecast is that the new platform will be expanded to public housing developments in Sant Adrià de Besòs, Lloret de Mar and La Seu d’Urgell.
