He left the keys at home, but had left the balcony door open. A resident of Calle Princesa in Madrid had an idea, the possible consequences of which seemed less serious to him than paying the locksmith’s bill: to climb the façade of the building until he reached his apartment on the second floor. And so he did. The neighbors and passers-by who saw him clinging to the wall several meters high could not believe that the Madrid ‘Spiderman’ was in jeans, with a dark blue t-shirt and without shoes.
The real luck was that his neighbor was home and let him cross from her balcony to hers, separated by less than three meters of facade. The man, who apparently took off his shoes to have better grip with his feet, walked along the entire ledge holding onto the decorative grooves on the wall with both hands.
On the other side of the street, someone recorded the video and uploaded it to social media, where it began to go viral, precisely under the name “Princess Street Spiderman,” in reference to the well-known Marvel character who moves around the city clinging to the facades of buildings, throwing spider webs from his wrist.
Before the incredulous eyes of those watching him, the Madrid ‘spiderman’ reached his balcony in a few seconds and managed to save himself a large bill from the locksmith. His neighbor, who never doubted him, followed him with her eyes until the man was safe from his own decisions and gave him a thumbs up to indicate that he could rest assured.
