More Madrid and PSOE have criticized the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, for the dinner with a Quirón executive in January 2022, six months before the Community of Madrid released hundreds of millions of euros in payments to that group. The two spokespersons for these groups reacted this Monday in the usual press conference after the Board of Spokespersons to the EL PAÍS news about the meeting, further evidence of the close connection between Ayuso and Quirón. Neither the Madrid president nor her squires have commented on the issue today.
Manuela Bergerot, the leader of Más Madrid, has recalled that this Quirón executive, Fernando Camino, is the same one whom the Prosecutor’s Office attributes to having received an alleged bribe of half a million euros from Ayuso’s partner, Alberto González Amador. “Today we have further proof of Quirón’s infiltration into the president’s inner circle and one more indication that the fate of Madrid’s health budget is decided in private rooms behind closed doors and in exchange for commissions for Ayuso’s boyfriend, which is the same as saying commissions for Isabel Díaz Ayuso,” Bergerot stated.
Mar Espinar, from the PSOE, has also referred to the news during his turn. “The only thing we are clear about today is that four years after that dinner, Mrs. Ayuso shares a luxury penthouse with her partner and the people of Madrid suffer from a waiting list of more than a million” appointments, he stated.
Ayuso, who has no events this Monday, has not said anything on the subject. Nor has his spokesperson in the Assembly, Carlos Díaz-Pache, referred to him during his turn behind the Meeting.
The dinner took place on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at a bar in the center of León called Entrepeñas. Ayuso was in that northwest city because a congress of the PP of Castilla y León was held that weekend, prior to the elections the following month in that autonomy. Camino asked the owner of the store to close the store to guarantee the privacy of the two of them, the manager’s wife, other friends of both of them, and several members of the president’s team. Absent was the popular leader’s partner, businessman Alberto González Amador, who knew Camino from their business relationship of more than a decade.
The meeting took place six months before the dismissal of the general auditor of the Community of Madrid, Marta García Miranda, whose departure was followed until the end of that year by the payment of 1,390 million debt to that hospital group with strong interests in the Madrid Administration.
