The plan against the Iran war, the main issue in the control session
The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has to respond this Wednesday in the Plenary Session of Congress to questions about his position against the war in the Middle East and about the plan that the Council of Ministers plans to approve next Friday to alleviate its economic effects. Some of the groups will ask about this in the control session, which will also be the first face in Congress between Sánchez and Feijóo since the start of the war and after the elections in Castilla y León.
Specifically, the PNV spokesperson, Maribel Vaquero, will take advantage of the fact that it is her turn to question Sánchez to try to get the head of the Executive to specify how he plans to face the current geopolitical crisis and what measures will be included in the decree law prepared by the Executive. The general secretary of Podemos, Ione Belarra, will also urge him to explain what he intends to do to “turn into reality the “no to war” that he has dusted off to show his opposition to the unilateral action and foreign to international legality of the American president, Donald Trump, and the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
In addition to the president, some questions about the economic support measures will be directed to the first vice president of the Government and head of the Treasury, María Jesús Montero. “Who will pay this time for the consequences of the illegal war in Iran and the Middle East?” reads the question recorded by Bildu’s deputy spokesperson, Oskar Matute.
The PP has not registered any question about the measures that are going to be activated due to the economic effects of the war, but Feijóo will be able to raise the issue with Sánchez, whom he plans to ask “who continues to trust his Government.” (EP)
