Employee well-being, i.e. the well-being of employees, is largely responsible for the company’s success. “The health and well-being of employees are important operational resources,” says a short report from the German Economic Institute. Nevertheless, it is precisely this area that is at risk of being neglected in times of crises, restructuring and budget cuts.
But what exactly does employee well-being involve? The term is often used synonymously with employee satisfaction. Katharina Streithofer-Posch is an expert in diversity, culture, well-being & social impact with over 20 years of experience in international organizations. For them, employee well-being has many facets that go beyond aspects such as BGM, benefits and compensation. “In my opinion, it arises where employees have the feeling that they have their place in the company, that they can contribute their perspective and that they are taken seriously,” says Streithofer-Posch. “It’s about relationship quality, trust and cultural framework within an organization.”
