Five people have been injured, two of them seriously, in a traffic accident between two cars on the AP-6 heading out of Madrid, near Guadarrama, as reported this Friday by Emergencies 112 of the Community of Madrid.
In the event, which occurred around 10:30 this Good Friday at kilometer 48 of the AP-6, two passenger cars collided, one of them overturned on its roof, which caused a traffic jam in the area as traffic was reduced to a single lane. Firefighters from the Community of Madrid, members of SUMMA 112 and the Civil Guard have attended the scene.
A couple was traveling in the overturned car. The 91-year-old woman had multiple bruises and had to be freed by firefighters. The husband, 79 years old, has been transported by helicopter by SUMMA 112 to multiple bruises. Both were in potentially serious condition and were referred to the same hospital, Puerta del Hierro in Majadahonda.
In the other car, a couple was traveling with their minor daughter. The three have been treated by SUMMA 112 at the scene and then also transferred to the Puerta de Hierro Hospital with a mild prognosis. The mother and daughter suffered bruises and the father had minor head trauma and a head injury.
A dog was traveling in the first vehicle, which has been rescued by Community firefighters and taken to the Villalba Fire Station so that a family member can pick it up. The animal was unharmed.
As a result of the accident, a large traffic jam has occurred in the area because outbound traffic has been reduced to one lane at this point. The Firefighters of the Community of Madrid have been in charge of the cleaning work and the Civil Guard of the investigations into what happened.
