The rescues have taken place in Valdemorillo and Cabanillas de la Sierra and both animals are unharmed

In the last 24 hours, firefighters from the Community of Madrid have saved two animals that had ended up where they shouldn’t have been. One, a roe deer that could not leave a chalet in Valdemorillo to which it had entered; another, a cat that had gotten into a large jar in Cabanillas de la Sierra. In both cases, the victims were unharmed. Firefighters have also not suffered serious injuries after dealing with a frightened cat.
The first of the rescues took place on the afternoon of this Friday, April 3. The white cat had been trapped in a large jar in Cabanillas de la Sierra, a town north of the community. Its large light fur stood out against the black background of the container, which was located in an old and abandoned warehouse in Cabanillas de la Sierra. The one who raised the alarm was the mayor of the municipality. One of the firefighters entered the jar and managed to pick up the kitten, visibly frightened by the presence of so many strangers and by not being able to get out of where he had gotten into.
The other rescue operation took place this Saturday morning. The roe deer had gotten stuck in the fence that delimited a chalet in the municipality of Valdemorillo, in the west of the region. It was the owner of the home herself who noticed the presence of the specimen and notified the local police. The agents have requested the support of the firefighters. Two crews have responded to the call. In just a few minutes, they have managed to free the roe deer and return it to the natural environment. “They have used the same means that are used to free people injured in traffic accidents,” specified an emergency spokesperson.
