Big Business Entrepreneurs (BBE) is calling for more targeted initiatives to support business owners across the Midlands and help realise the region’s economic potential.

Data shows that the West Midlands accounts for 965,903 businesses, equating to 8.1% of the UK’s business base. However, this strength is unevenly distributed, with a small number of urban centres dominating business activity.

Adam Stott, Founder of Big Business Entrepreneurs, said: “With vast industrial heritage but stark variation in business density, the Midlands is primed for business coaching to help founders scale and close the gap between its strongest and weakest-performing areas.

“The Midlands has long been one of the UK’s industrial engines, and today remains a region of enormous potential but more targeted support is needed to help business owners achieve that potential.”

According to BBE, coaching programmes can help bridge this gap by improving business confidence, advancing digital marketing skills and accelerating growth among smaller firms.

Adam Stott added: “The Midlands has world-class talent, industry and innovation, but many small business owners struggle to access the structure and support needed to grow. Coaching gives them a roadmap so they can increase revenue, hire staff and contribute more fully to regional economic prosperity.”
