Victoria Hargrave, founder of Beau Bronzage and owner of The Tanning Room, has unveiled Prep & Prolong, a natural body wash created to help preserve tanning results while supporting skin health.
The new product officially launches on Friday 12th December and will be stocked across all Tanning Room locations, signalling the next phase of growth for the Beau Bronzage brand.
Prep & Prolong was created in response to a long-standing problem Victoria has identified within the tanning industry. Many high-street body washes contain soaps, synthetic fragrances and chemicals that strip moisture from the skin and cause tans to fade unevenly. The formula is 94% natural in origin, soap-free, and balanced to support both the skin’s pH and microbiome. Designed to cleanse gently, it allows tans to develop more evenly and can help clients maintain results for up to 14 days when used as part of a proper preparation routine.
Since launching Beau Bronzage, Victoria has placed strong emphasis on natural formulations and UK-based manufacturing. Prep & Prolong complements the brand’s existing range of self-tan products and tan accelerators and will be made available to salons beyond The Tanning Room as Victoria looks to expand professional distribution in 2026.
The creation of Beau Bronzage stemmed from an unexpected moment. Following lockdown, Victoria struggled to find a spray tan product she truly trusted, leading her to develop her own. That same drive originally led her into business in 2013 when, shortly after her mother’s recovery from kidney cancer, a routine visit to a tanning salon ahead of a family holiday highlighted a clear gap in the market. Just weeks later, she opened her first salon in Witney.
Since that first opening, Victoria has grown the business into a multi-award-winning brand with salons across Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. The Tanning Room now operates in Witney, Carterton, Swindon, Cirencester and West Swindon. Earlier this year, she made the strategic decision to close the Stroud salon amid economic challenges, rising costs and reduced footfall. The move allowed equipment to be redistributed across other locations, resulting in one Swindon salon recording a 60% increase in revenue during its first month.
Alongside running her businesses, Victoria recently completed an MBA at Hult University, graduating at the Royal Festival Hall in August 2025. Having left school without qualifications, the achievement represents both a personal triumph and a professional milestone.
“Prep & Prolong is something I’ve wanted to bring to the market for a long time,” said Victoria. “So many people don’t realise their body wash is the reason their tan fades quickly or goes patchy. This formula is simple, natural and kind to the skin and it genuinely makes a difference. When you prep properly, your tan should last so much longer.”
“I’m passionate about keeping my products UK-manufactured. A lot of salon brands are produced abroad and spend months on shelves before they even reach customers. I want Beau Bronzage to offer something fresher, cleaner, and more reliable for both clients and professionals.”
Prep & Prolong is available now across all The Tanning Room salons, Amazon and TikTok Shop, with further Beau Bronzage product developments planned for 2026.
