Victoria Bautze always enjoyed working a lot. There was a clear career focus in her life. Then the symptoms began – the almost unbearable pain. In 2020 she was finally diagnosed with a chronic illness. “I immediately had to think about work,” remembers Bautze, who was working as a project account manager at the time and does not want to share her exact diagnosis. “I was worried about whether I could afford to miss time due to doctor’s appointments or bad periods.” What can employers do in such cases?
