The large forest fires that are devastating the province of Ávila and the Community of Madrid have already forced the evacuation or confinement of 100,000 people and affect 45,000 hectares. The two fires are still active and advancing uncontrolled. For four days, strong gusts of wind have made extinction difficult and the efforts of the firefighters have led to exhausting days of work. The efforts of the operation this Sunday will be focused again on protecting populations, evacuating preventively and preventing the flames from both fronts from merging. Even so, the Military Emergency Unit (UME) already treats them as a single large fire and the Government has expanded the national emergency to Toledo. The key during the day will be, again, the wind.
