The Minister of Sustainable Development of Castilla-La Mancha, Mercedes Gómez, reported this Saturday that the fire that is affecting the northern mountains of Guadalajara is “far from being controlled” and that the burned area amounts to 5,400 hectares. In addition, the evolution of the flames has forced the evacuation of another town, so there are now 12 municipalities evacuated with around 600 displaced people. The other fire of concern is that of Orés (Zaragoza), which continues to advance and has burned 15,400 hectares, according to what the Government of Aragon has reported. The flames have reached a perimeter of 60 kilometers and have forced the evacuation of six towns in Zaragoza and one in Navarre. In Málaga, the fire declared on Friday in Árchez, which forced the town of Cómpeta to be confined for more than five hours, was stabilized last night and work is now underway to control and extinguish it. The Aemet places eight autonomous communities at extreme level due to risk of forest fires. The areas of most concern are Huesca (Aragón), the eastern half of Andalusia, the Region of Murcia and the Community of Madrid, except for the metropolitan area; the southeast of Castilla y León, the north of Catalonia, areas in almost all the provinces of Castilla-La Mancha and some strips in the Valencian Community.
