Spain faces a start to the week with good weather in most of the territory. Lightly cloudy and clear skies are expected, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). However, the stability that accompanied us during Holy Week will be short-lived. A change is expected at the end of the day, due to the entry of a new storm from the Atlantic Ocean.
The agency also reported that bands of clouds and precipitation are expected, along with an unstable air mass of subtropical origin. He states that this change in trend could affect Galicia and other points in the western third. It is not ruled out that it will be accompanied by storms.
The extratropical cyclone will develop to the west of the Peninsula and is expected to favor the presence of haze, due to the suspended dust. The spokesperson for the meteorological entity, Rubén del Campo, states that “it will probably lead to rains from the west and south” starting on Tuesday.
At this time of day its name is not yet known and, according to Del Campo, at this time it is also difficult to specify its trajectory and the areas that will receive the most rain.
The meteorological organization also maintains the yellow level warning in Cádiz due to waves and strong gusts of wind of up to 80 kilometers per hour. Likewise, it announces that temperatures will vary up and down in the west and center of the Peninsula. The maximums will rise in the north of Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea, while they will fall in areas of the Levant and the southwest. In the rest of the country, they will hardly vary.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the spokesperson states that temperatures could drop in much of the country. These will be closer to what usually occurs at the end of May or beginning of June. “In general, we will talk about high values for the time of year, especially daytime, which will be between 5 and 10 degrees above normal,” comments Del Campo.
Temperatures of between 25 and 30 degrees are expected in Galicia, the Cantabrian Sea, the northern plateau and the northeast of the peninsula. In the lower Cantabrian valleys, they could even exceed 30 degrees.
