Caron Sanders-Crook, a former army professional with extensive experience in health and social care, has launched Moral Injury UK, a new initiative focused on supporting people living with Moral Injury.
Often mistaken for workplace stress or burnout, Moral Injury represents a deeper psychological and emotional wound caused when personal values and moral beliefs are compromised. Moral Injury UK has been created to address this gap by offering structured identification, measurement and repair of Moral Injury, with wellbeing and ethical integrity at its core.
The organisation will provide early support to individuals while also working proactively with organisations and sectors to improve understanding of Moral Injury and reduce the conditions that allow it to develop in workplaces.
“This is a serious health condition. I want it talked about in the same breath as anything else – if someone suffers from back pain, you know what it is and to get treatment. I want the same recognition for Moral Injury,” said Caron Sanders-Crook.
“It can happen in any sector, to anyone. Our goal is to raise awareness, clarify the definition, and start meaningful conversations. We want to work with people and organisations to help make real changes.”
Sanders-Crook’s work has been shaped by her own experiences of Moral Injury through complex life events and redundancy processes. In response, she has developed diagnostic tools that allow Moral Injury to be measured and addressed through clear, actionable recovery plans.
Based in Essex, Moral Injury UK will offer both in-person and remote consultation services. Individuals will also have access to a free Discovery Call to explore whether Moral Injury may be affecting them.
The official website for Moral Injury UK is due to launch in early 2026.
